Being a child is supposed to be a fun time of a person's life. This is the time when he can be carefree and problems are very small. But there is one sad reality that some will die during this time of their life. There are kids who have a threatening illness that involves tumors and malignant cells. For those who have this, a childhood cancer foundation can be a big help.

The first thing one should do regarding this matter is to understand the condition. This can be a very devastating illness not only for the child but also for the whole family. This is the situation in the body when cells grow out of control and affect the functions of the organs and demand more of the little body's nutrition.

People who are concerned about this matter should also know some childhood cancer facts. In the United States, there is an average of 14 out of 100, 000 kids who has this illness. Some of the most common kinds are lymphoma, leukemia, and those that affect the brain and the bones.

The factors that might affect the rapid growth of these cells for children are different from that of the adults. Usually, this has something to do with some of their genetic makeup. When these cancerous cells spread, they can weaken the body and make it more prone to experiencing other kinds of illnesses.

The growth of these cells is random and cannot be prevented. This is the reason why until now, there is no sure way to deal with such illness. When this is detected, the child has to be subjected to some necessary treatments that aim to prevent the cells from rapidly growing or if not, the tumor will have to be removed.

This sickness can affect anyone from different socioeconomic classes or any ethnicity. The possible causes of such a condition still remains to be a mystery and this is not possible to detect at an early stage. Sadly, there are 2, 300 deaths each year that is related to this condition among kids and teenagers.

Childhood cancer awareness should be spread to increase people's knowledge and understanding about the matter. This is not an easy feat to endure, especially for a child. People who are advocates for this cause can donate their money to help the children to undergo the expensive treatments.

The establishment of a childhood cancer foundation roots from the desire to help these children and their families. This also hopes to spread the awareness among people so the public will understand it. The donations can go a long way as these are also used to fund researches that aim to find a cure for such a terrible illness.
